Regional Services laboratories provide pathology services to medical
practitioners and hospitals within regional South Australia.
Clinical pathology testing in haematology, clinical chemistry
and microbiology occurs on site. Each laboratory also ensures
the distribution of compatible blood and blood products for transfusion
and provides a service in autologous (patients' own blood) blood
collection and the collection of other specimens.
Routine microbiology services provided by all laboratories ensures
the efficient operation of microbial surveillance and infection-control
programs within hospitals and the communities.
