CERVEX BRUSH COLLECTION TECHNIQUE (CONVENTIONAL SMEAR)


Fill in the appropriate request form with patient details. An adequate clinical history is essential.

Label frosted end of slide with full patients name and date of birth or unit record number
Insert instrument into endocervical canal and rotate clockwise
Smear one side of the brush on the slide and then the other, ensuring a thin uniform smear
Spray fix immediately and allow the slide to dry before placing in slide mailer holder
