Patient Lists

This report lists those patients who have had a Pap smear reported by the IMVS in the past month. Two separate lists are available: a list of patient with normal Pap smear reports and a list of patients with abnormal or unsatisfactory reports. Both lists can be provided if requested. The Patient Lists can be addressed personally to the doctor concerned or the Practise Manager.

Pap Smear Statistics Report

This is a cumulative report based on the number of cervical smears which you have referred to the laboratory during the set period specified on the report. This data is compared with the cumulative results from all cervical smears screened by the laboratory over the same period.

The report is in two parts. The first section presents the number of cases in which an endocervical component is pesent in the smears in each age group. The second section provides a breakdown of the diagnoses obtained on your patients.

Patient Result Notification and Recall Letters

Standard letters are printed alongside the main Pap smear report for patient notification and recall purposes. The format of the letters is dependant on the report category.

The main report and letter categories are as follows:

  • Smears reported as within normal limits; standard two yearly repeat recommended.
  • Smears reported as within normal limits; early repeat smear recommended.
  • Smears reported as abnormal; recommendation based on degree of abnormality.
  • Smears reported as unsatisfactory; repeat smear advised.

Pap Smear Cumulative Report

The cumulative report includes results from the patient's previous Pap smears taken by the doctor specified on the current request form.

The report is a summary of smear results and includes the final diagnosis, details about the presence or absence of an endocervical component and a recommendation. Detailed descriptive comments and reporting of some infective agents are not included and will only appear on the full report. The cumulative report is printed in addition to the full Pap smear report.
