LETTER 1

For normal smears, two yearly repeat.

NOTIFICATION OF PAP SMEAR TEST RESULT

Dear…………..

The results of your recent Pap Smear Test have come back to the clinic and no abnormalities were detected. It is now recommended that you have your next Pap Smear in two years' time.

Please remember that a Pap Smear is a screening test and in a small number of women it may fail to detect abnormalities of the cervix. If you experience any symptoms, for example bleeding after sexual intercourse, you should make another appointment to discuss them.

To reduce the chance of missing a treatable condition, all Pap smears examined at the IMVS are checked at least twice. You may receive a second report in a few weeks if follow-up is required.
