COMBINED SPATULA CYTOBRUSH METHOD (THINPREP TEST)
*As recommended by Cytyc (Australia) Pty Ltd.


Fill in the appropriate request form with patient details. An adequate clinical history is essential.

Label frosted end of slide with full patients name and date of birth or unit record number
Rotate PLASTIC spatula 360 degrees
Smear ectocervical material on the slide, ensuring a thin uniform smear
Spray fix immediately
Rinse spatula vigorously in the PreservCyt solution
Rotate brush in endocervical canal
Roll brush onto unused area of slide. Do not overlap frosted area
Spray fix immediately. Allow slide to dry prior to placing in slide mailer holder
Rinse brush vigorously in the PreservCyt solution
Replace the cap and tighten so that the small black mark passes the corresponding line on the vial. Record full patients name and date of birth or unit record number on the label of the vial
