Dr Nicola Poplawski is a paediatrician and clinical geneticist. She trained in New Zealand (University of Otago, Dunedin and the Taranaki Base Hospital, New Plymouth), South Australia (Women's and Children's Hospital) and Canada (the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto).
She currently works in the Familial Cancer Unit at the Women's and Children's Hospital where, working closely with laboratories, she provides families with genetic diagnoses, counseling and testing. She also conducts clinics at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Dr Poplawski’s main area of interest is genetic education for the public, families and health care professionals. Her research focuses on clinical aspects of inherited diseases, including familial cancer.
