Dr Andrew Ruszkiewicz is a Senior Consultant Pathologist at the IMVS in Adelaide, member of the Hanson Institute, lecturer within the Pathology discipline and Head of the Gastroenterology Research Laboratory, IMVS.

During his pathology training, Dr Ruszkiewicz worked at the Geelong Hospital (Vic), Royal Darwin Hospital (NT), the IMVS, and spent three years training in forensic pathology at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Pathology in Melbourne. After becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 1988, he joined the IMVS as a consultant in the Division of Tissue Pathology.

He has a special interest in gastroenterology pathology, particularly in the cancer precursor lesions and malignancies of the colorectum, oesophagus and stomach. His other areas of interest include the application of novel molecular techniques in the investigation of familial colorectal cancer, tissue banking and autopsy pathology.
